With an extensive team of safety and risk management,injury management and human resource professionals located in 3 states, Mike provides risk management consulting services to more than 150 companies in PA, NJ, MD, NC, OH,VA and WV. He has more than 20 years experience in the safety/risk management arena with organizations ranging from small/medium firms to large, complex multinational corporations. He holds the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Workers Compensation Advisor (CWCA) designations.

Prior to forming East Coast Risk Management, Michael held the position of Director, Safety, Health and Environmental Management for a large multinational corporation where he oversaw a staff of professionals responsible for more than 35 facilities in eight countries. He was responsible for the safety, health and workers' compensation programs as well as all environmental and safety compliance efforts. He also oversaw the environmental due diligence efforts of the corporation during more than twelve manufacturing facility acquisitions and divestitures as well as corporate mergers. He received a BS degree in Industrial Safety Sciences from Indiana University of PA and is activelyinvolved in a number of professional societies and business groups.

 


Susan LaBar

Regional Risk Manager, Coach USA


Susan manages a multi-state insurance program and her duties include supervising internal staff, the TPA, and outside counsel. Hired in 2005, Susan established the Early Return to Work Program, online claims reporting, a Litigation Management program, and TPA reserving guidelines. These initiatives have resulted in a reduction in claims costs of approximately 20%. Overall reserves have been reduced by 50%.

Prior to joining Coach USA, she as employed at OneSource Facility Services, Inc. For 12 years, Susan worked in various capacities in the risk management department at OneSource. While there, she helped initiate and administer their first formal Risk Management program.

A graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, Susan holds a BA in Communications. She also has a paralegal degree from the Philadelphia Institute.

 


Christopher Zanke MS, MPT

Vice President of Operations, Select Medical Corporation dba NovaCare Rehabilitation


Chris is the Vice President of Operations for Select Medical Corporation dba NovaCare Rehabilitation. Prior to his full-time administrative duties, Chris served in dual clinical and administrative capacities. A seasoned clinician, Chris specializes in treating a wide variety of injuries and diagnoses, including spine, rotator cuff, ACL, total joint replacements and foot/ankle injuries. Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, his Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and advanced certification as an Exercise Specialist by the American College of Sports Medicine afforded him to work as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with cardiopulmonary patients recovering from myocardial infarction, coronary artery bypass surgery, angioplasty and coronary stent placement.

David is a 20-year veteran of the insurance industry and is regarded as one of the brightest minds in the industry due to his unique Advanced Risk Mitigation approach, which identify, control and reduce the risk factors inherent in any business that drive costs to an organizations bottom line and hinder employee productivity. Since just 2004, David has saved his clients well over $13,000,000 in premiums and overcharges.

David was awarded the Advisor of the Year for 2008 by the Institute of WorkComp Professionals and is a frequent contributor to Dynamic Business Magazine, and has been published in several other periodicals.

David is Co-Founder of Keystone CompControl, the nation's largest single network of Workers Compensation specialists, and is one of only 27 nationwide Level-5 Advisors of the Institute of WorkComp Professionals. David, who has 16 years experience specializing in Workers' Compensation, is an alumnus of Penn State where he received a Bachelor of Science in Insurance and Risk Management. His professional designations include Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and Charter Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and has been designated a Certified WorkComp Advisor (CWCA) by the Institute of WorkComp Professionals

Gerry is a graduate of Duquesne University where he received his BS, magna cum laude and his juris doctor.

He joined Burns, White & Hickton in 2002 as an Associate in the firm's Workers' Compensation division and quickly became recognized as one of the state's best Workers' Compensation defense attorneys. He also chairs the Irwin Project, a non-profit organization that helps the Borough of Irwin, Westmoreland County, PA, in securing and managing economic and infrastructure revitalization projects.
